Grenadier Company 3rd Battalion 1st Foot Guards 1815

The First Regiment of Foot Guards, under its present name of the Grenadier Guards remains one of the senior regiments of the British army.  Even by the time of Waterloo in June 1815 the regiment could boast a long and glorious history; indeed it was following that great battle that the 1st Foot Guards became a regiment of Grenadiers in honour of the major part played in the repulse, and final defeat of Napoleon’s Imperial Guard.

The living history and re-enactment unit portrays the Grenadier Company of the Guards as it appeared at Waterloo.  The unit features a military encampment as a back drop to the activities and displays of both soldiers and camp followers alike.

Care is taken to ensure all aspects of the unit’s representation are as historically accurate as practicable.

We operate a lease/lend equipment system, allowing new members to get started in the hobby at a minimal cost, and existing members to continually improve the quality of their individual representation.

The unit takes part in battle re-enactments both in the UK and abroad.  The unit has also taken part in TV dramas and documentaries and has even paraded before Her Majesty the Queen at Horse Guards’ in London.
